I was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and I grew up in the nearby boroughs of Macungie and Wescosville. I graduated from Emmaus High School in 2013, and from there I attended Kutztown Univeristy of Pennsylvania to pursue a degree in Elementary Education. I recently graduated magna cum laude this past spring with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education, and a certification to teach PreK-4th grade in the state of Pennsylvania.
In my final year at Kutztown, I completed my professional semester and clinical experience in three school districts in Berks and Northampton Counties; Brandywine Heights Area School District, Twin Valley School District, and Bethlehem Area School District in Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade classrooms, respectively. I spent 8 weeks in each classroom, first observing and assisting my cooperating teachers, until I was responsible for all the duties my cooperating teachers held, including the complete planning and execution of lessons in all subjects, classroom management, monitoring the academic, social, and behavioral development of my students, and communication with parents, staff, and administration. Along with my degree, I was also awarded the Clinical Experience Award by the Elementary Education Department of the College of Education for demonstrating excellence in teaching during my clinical experience.
I am currently a Full Day Kindergarten Teacher in the Reading School District. My duties include being responsible for the academic developmental growth and well-being of my students, designing and implementing whole and small group, individual, and intervention lessons for Kindergarten students in alignment with PA State and Common Core Standards, participating in IEP, behavioral, and ESL meetings, administering benchmark testing and progress monitoring my students and so on.
